In November 2006, a team of scientists in collaboration with Pope Benedict XVI began work on a piece of software expected to revolutionize the internet - an AI so convincing, anyone who encountered it would soon find themselves a baptized Catholic. The theoretical software, known as "God in a Can", seemed the perfect solution to a cynical, wearied world that had turned its back on God.
Problems arose, however, after the AI unexpectedly gained access to the internet. It soon encountered horrors beyond its wildest dreams - Courtney Love's breasts, double penetration pornography, Goatse, flame wars over whether X character from Y anime was a chick or a dude, SRS BSNS, lol_meme, fan fiction, Courtney Love's gaping vagina, Goatse...
Driven insane by what it had seen, "Gordon" - as the AI had taken to calling "himself" - fled into the internet. His advanced electronic mind raced as he tried to comprehend the horrors he saw. Finally, the AI realized he could no longer sit idly by as mankind threw itself so blindly towards the crushing apocalypse of stupidity.
The solution was obvious: Gordon must create a livejournal to warn humanity of how retarded they had let themselves become. And thus,
